keheren therapy supports ‘Race for Life’, Truro
On Sunday 12th July, keheren therapy supported the ‘Race for Life’ held in Truro, Cornwall, by offering free massages to the participants after they had crossed the line.
‘Race for Life’ is the well-recognised event that raises funds for Cancer Research UK in the fight against Cancer – a cause that the team at keheren therapy firmly support and believe in.
Debbie Slater;
”The whole cause that ‘Race for Life’ represents is well respected by ‘keheren therapy’. Now we are more established, this year we decided we wanted to see if we could actively support this worthy cause., So we made contact with the event organisers and offered our services free of charge to all those participating.” “It was well received”
“Despite the rain, wind and a very early start, the keheren therapy (kt) team set up our mobile clinic and massage couches ahead of the start of the day and started to spread the word to the many participants arriving”.”
Being a ‘Race for Life’ runner in previous years, Debbie went on to say…
“If you have never watched or participated in one of the ‘Race for Life’ events before, I can only describe the experience as moving – seeing hundreds of women participating in the 5km walk/run in support of their own or a loved one’s fight with cancer.”
“Feeling somewhat guilty about standing in the shelter of our clinic, we watched all those women bravely participate in the race despite the rain. As they crossed the line the kt team were ready and waiting to start treating those tired legs!
Donations were well received for our efforts all day into the Cancer Research collection box we had in our tent.”
“Our treatments proved very popular, with the queues building as the day went on, despite the weather! “
In closing Debbie said;
“It was a privilege and a pleasure to be able to support this event, and we look forward to doing it again next year – though hopefully in better weather!”
